PRESS RELEASE
BLS Group changes its name to Vitas Group – a name reflecting the group’s history, future ambitions, and innermost core: life. Under the new name, strong brands such as Purus, Unidrain, Jafo and Trio Perfekta are brought together in a common identity that signals a readiness for further growth, both organically and through acquisitions.
For 80 years, the Swedish group BLS Industries has delivered functional and high-quality solutions for the construction industry. With the new name Vitas Group, the group is taking a big, but natural, step into the future. The name change is not just cosmetic, but also marks a new phase in the group’s development. Under Vitas Group, a clear and comprehensive platform is being created, where each brand can continue to shine while standing stronger together – firmly rooted in the group’s heritage.
– Vitas comes from Latin and means life, which we see as a natural symbol of our business. We guide water, create sustainable solutions for the bathrooms and kitchens of the future, and carry with us a history shaped by both innovation and humanity, says Rebecka Spånberg, Group CEO and Managing Director of Vitas Group – as well as the twelfth generation of family entrepreneurs.

The next generation shapes the future – starting today
The name change is an important part of a long-term strategy where the goal is to create a clear, common platform for current and future brands. It should be easy to understand that you are part of something bigger – both as a customer, partner and employee.
– We live thanks to our brands and our history, but we look ahead. Vitas Group will be the mothership that carries all this forward, says Rebecka Spånberg.
The entire process has been driven internally – from brand analysis to name development – and has involved employees from all parts of the group. This underlines one of the most important values within Vitas Group: trust in the people within the organization.
One particular part of the process also became symbolically significant. Rebecka Spånberg and her husband Markus Spånberg, Deputy CEO of Vitas Group, asked their two sons to build Lego models of the various name proposals.
– When they built Vitas, it became a factory with a truck – but also a dinosaur, which we saw as a symbol of our long history. Letting them build the vision of Vitas Group was a way to literally let the next generation be involved in shaping the future, says Markus Spånberg.
Built on values – and people
Under Rebecka Spånberg’s leadership, values such as courage, commitment, and responsibility have taken an even more prominent place in the group’s strategy – and her view on leadership permeates the entire organisation.
– I’m not standing alone; we do this together. We are a group filled with people who have incredible competence and heart. That’s what makes us strong even in challenging times, she says..
She is referring, among other things, to the fire at the factory of Trio Perfekta, one of the group’s brands, which occurred this spring. No one was injured, but the sense of loss is profound.
– We mourn the loss of the factory together. And we rise together. That’s how we function – we have a strong sense of unity and care for each other, says Rebecka Spånberg.
The strength of community – with brands at the forefront
Despite the name change, the brands remain at the centre. Vitas Group is the unifying umbrella that provides structure, security and power. At the same time, each brand is allowed to retain its own identity.
– We believe in decentralisation, in strong brands, and independent companies. At the same time, Vitas Group brings everything together in a community that offers security to our customers and new opportunities for our employees, says Rebecka Spånberg.
The group structure also makes it easier to grow internationally without losing what makes the business unique: the sense of family, craftsmanship tradition, and the down-to-earth business philosophy. Markus Spånberg explains:
– When we look for potential acquisitions, we strive to find companies with the right values, which match ours. We see this as a prerequisite for us to be able to work well together. We want strong brands that complement our portfolio or our markets. It is not difficult to buy a company, but it is difficult to find the right one. That is why we are happy to buy other family businesses, as we have done in the past. It is important that their name, history and brand live on – the soul of what they have built – but with Vitas Group and our expertise behind them.
With the name change, Vitas Group sets its sights on the future.
– As Vitas Group, we are entering a new era with renewed energy. We are preparing for tomorrow, where we aim to stand stronger in Europe. I am grateful to be at the forefront of this organisation and look forward to seeing our brands gain new ground – together, concludes Rebecka Spånberg.
